A Field Trip to Gettysburg
This fall Veritas' Sophomore US History took its traditional trip to Gettysburg National Military Park. The class was able to get a first hand look at one the American Civil War's most important battles and learn about their country's history where it actually happened. Highlights included visiting the Cyclorama a 360 degree painting of the battle, touring the battlefield museum, going on a professional guided tour of the battlefield, and exploring important parts of the battlefield such as Little Round Top, Devils Den and Cemetery Ridge. The trip culminate with the class walking Pickets Charge and reflecting on the battle in the Gettysburg National Cemetery.
